Man of steel V.S. Goku....

General discussion looked like a good place to put this. My TMO office has been debating this for weeks now and I need outside opinions. The subject of debate is simple; if Superman and Goku went head to head in a fight, who would win?

We have also thinned out variables;

1. They fight on a deserted earth like planet.

2. There is a yellow sun.

3. Goku starts off as himself and must turn into a his super blonde haired self.

4. No kryptonite on said planet.

Ready?!

FIGHT!

Superman would win because Goku's animation sucks.

Well, I guess that's true. I say the man of steel by a mile and a half.

Goku can fly even if he hasent gone blonde,
Goku is a sayien not human (big difference),
they are both space beings and the man of steel has not faced a sayien before

first of all, if the topic of a fight came up between two said heroes, there would be no need to asnwer why. we need to assume theres a reason.

Even though goku is fast, hes not as fast as the man of steel. superman could finish the fight before it even started. should goku get past the speed factor, hes got limits. he gets tired, needs to rest, needs time to power him self up. Superman is at full power all th time with no need to recharge(you have already stated there is a yellow sun, thats the reason why).
Second in every thing i have seen from the DBZ series, Goku cannot withstand the vacuum of space. hes always been in some type of suit. Super man can. All he needs to do is throw goku into space and the fights over. Superman is invulnerable, while goku is extremely tough and well trained, he still feels the smallest of things. The saiyen prince's body would give out.
this is with the variables you have set as the situation. nuff said...

Easier way of describing the victory to Superman: Goku would take five episodes to get anywhere near the level of power Superman has naturally - and that's IF Superman lets him float there screaming at the top of his lungs for all five of those episodes

Well I do have to argue a few of your points. Goku can indeed move as quickly as Superman - Instant transmission is indeed faster than the speed of light, would you not say? So yes, he would get past the speed factor. Also, though Goku must power up over a short period of time, leaving him vulnerable, he's also Anime, which is way more impressive tha most cartoons. MOST. But not Superman... He's Superman - SUPER Man. And to be honest, DBZ does a terrible portrayal of why Goku wouldn't be able to withstand space - since he travels into atmospheric heights far beyond our stratosphere on a regular basis, so I don't know if i can credit you that. Someone else mentioned that superman has laser beam eye thingy - Goku has Kamehameha and spirit bomb, which somehow always wins, even if it does take three episodes to power up. Goku's only flaw is that he would never have the time to do anything vital in his form of combat against the man of steel, and would still lose, but I believe it would be an amazing spectacle to see. <3 Cheers

well since the topic has been brought up i would personally have to say anime is not better than most art out there. though i do like much of the art that comes from anime, its the color technique and stylization put into the work.

and i would say no instant transmission is not faster than the speed of light. for one in the longer times he has jumped he needed to touch his hand to his forhead. which is enough time for super man to drop him. in shorter teleports i think it would put him on equal footing with the speed factor. as for the ability to withstand space, i have seen him go into the higher parts of the atmosphere, but not into the full vacuum of space.
as for kamehameha and spirit bomb, super man is invulnerable....not just tough from training.

But the training is most certainly a matter of its own. A good measure of discipline is exercised in the grueling training Goku puts himself through. Touche, then, Superman has it by a mile (or more, considering the ease oftraveling one mile at the speed of light) As I've stated before, though, it would most certainly be a entertaining spectacle, provided Superman thought Goku's attempts as humorous as we, and allowed him to fight more than a few mere moments. Case closed, Steel - 1, Saiyan - 0

Actually after Goku acquires the power to do Super Sayian 3 he no longer needs to touch his forehead to instant transmission, otherwise instant kamahama wouldn't work. And I dont understand why Goku just couldn't instant transmission to some kryptonite and come back. And if someone says "there's no kryptonite" then yes as long as your removing superman's weaknesses he will win.
